can oysters be the solution to our water problems?
About
Oysters, a natural resource that people once took for granted. Nowadays, the NY coastlines only have 0.5 percent of the original oyster population. The oysters that keep the waters clean through their natural filtration process and the oyster reefs hold back rising tides during hurricanes.
Through community engagement on Governors Island, NY, participants were educated about the benefits of oysters and given handmade notebooks containing oyster facts to take their learning beyond the activities.
