PROJECT DESCRIPTION

"Through this AI exploration, I decided to finally realise an idea that I've had for years. A storybook about a young girl wondering all the different possibilities her life would be if she were to make one different decision. I think this happens to most of us, we wonder what would happen if we were to choose a different path in life. Through this book, we get to go through that journey with Grace.

Now what makes this book special is that I didn't make any of the illustrations or the written texts, nor did any human. The outline of the book was written via ChatGPT and all of the images were generated by MidJourney.

But in the images below, you can see all of the iterations/edits I had to make to construct the final book into my vision.

Now the question is: who is the actual creator of this book?"

ChatGPT's response

Note:

I do want to speak up about the use of AI as an artist. As a relatively new tool in the art world, it is always fun and exciting to think about all the possibilities. However, I do want to note that the law behind AI generated art is still a grey area. There are currently lawsuits going on towards these programs where human artists are finding their works being used as training data or as the database that generated these amazing AI work, without their permission.

As an artist who primarily works in traditional media, I stand with these artists and hope that they can get the credit they deserve. But I also understand that there is no way for us to go into the future without AI art, now that it is already so saturated in pop culture. I believe that the only way to move forward as artists is to keep exploring and keeping our minds open. Afterall, this is what people used to say about cameras, and photography is most definitely still a part of our lives.
